Veronica Mars Movie est une idée du réalisateur Rob Thomas et de l'actrice Kristen Bell. A la demande incessante des fans d'une suite à la série Veronica Mars, annulée en 2004 après 3 saisons.
La jauge (2M$) du projet a mis seulement une dizaine d'heures pour être atteinte! Un exploit! Pour se terminer au 12 avril 2013 avec 91585 backers (participants) et 5 702 153 $.
